Hes one of the few content creators that hasnt really seemed to evolve or change over the past 10-15 years. Seem format for his shows, the skits are still very much the same, drag on too long, and generally arent funny.

His review jokes are very hit or miss. Again, the ones he drags on or keeps using are typically the worst.

Actually, since hes gotten himself a big studio and actors, him being compelled to use them in his show has made the show worse. The Nostalgia Critic format was at its best when it was just him sitting in front of a camera and a second person being shown was a rarity.

I watch Brandon Tenold too (amongst others) who never has a second person in his videos nor does he stop to act out a skit, and so I think of his show as being consistently good.

I think Doug will be the first to criticise a movie hes reviewing when the movie completely grinds to a halt to show a goofy, ridiculous and pointless joke. And yet that is exactly what hes doing in his own show.

Linkara has his own storyline segments, but he knows people dont watch Atop The Fourth Wall for the storyline and keeps them to the beginning and end of the review when he does them. I like Linkara but I always skip the storyline parts.

I have nothing against Malcolm and Tamera, but I prefer the simpler old low-budget format. I wish that someone would edit the clips out of the Nostalgia Critic so it only shows Doug in front of the camera reviewing a movie.

And those clipless shows are the worst. I tried to watch one when he first started doing them but I really dont care for them.

Also, I dont care that some choices arent actually nostalgic and are modern movies. He did Rise of the Skywalker a few weeks ago; obviously a clipless show so I didnt watch it.

I actually prefer his First Viewing show to the Nostalgia Critic now. Just Doug and Rob (and sometimes their father) on a couch talking about the movie they are watching. No script, just reaction and improvisation.
