Yeah, it's complete bs. Most of the links I posted, plus a ton of others that validate my gripe about constant flushing, mention that they actually use far more water than manual flush toilets due to the extra flushes. Sometimes the article is just listing off industry-claimed benefits of them before tearing them down later on with facts and studies.

Yeah. Though, like I said, they are getting better. They will probably never be perfect. But they may eventually use less water. Or, about the same amount...

It's fine. Now you know. I didn't know that was a thing either until years ago when I griped about how much I hated auto flush toilets and asked why companies even install them, and was told about the handle-kicking craziness.

I wonder how common it actually is, though. I mean, I figure they wouldnt try to let it sit too long without being fixed. But to never see one still seems weird to me... Or to have never heard about this until recently...
