Reading the article, that is a big factor in what led to her passing. If she's attractive and can't feel accepted, she'll be at a loss thinking what else is she supposed to do to be validated. The family wants to blame social media, but the fault really lies with her parents and family who didn't teach her better and / or support her well enough, or seek professional help for her if they did and she wasn't listening. Depression rates are rising across the board; lots of kids are trying to substitute real friendships with online pseudofriendships via Twitch and Youtube streamers.
