I think it's cause his singles got super corny later on, Especially now. And he's always had corny shit throughout his music. But his first album that "Must Be Nice" (people do acknowledge this classic song) is on is literally one my favorite albums of all time. But literally no one ever brings him up. He also actually talks about shit in his music and has solid lyrics that no one else could pull off.
