Although I will admit still bothering to tell boys and men not to hit back in defense is archaically sexist, particularly when it leaves them open to being assaulted from fists to dangerous weapons. I feel this is especially true as a gay man as catering to the heteronormative expectation of chivalry does NOT benefit us in any way.
