As long as there isn't a line of successive 1st-cousin children (at which point the rate of defects become prominent enough to be a concern) the increase in chance of defects isn't meaningfully high for cousin marriages and there is no real reason to restrict it. Anyone who argues otherwise and isn't a proponent of eugenics, where they don't support a ban on having children for anyone with a significant genetic defect that is at risk of being passed to the child is a hypocrite.
