ACE GOD DAMN IT NO! This is one of those where it's hard not to tear up just a little bit when you listen to it. The music is stirring and emotional, and it's a god damn gut punch because it makes it seem like everything is going to be alright, and it isn't. It's never going to be alright again. I really like the quiet scenes of the strawhat pirates just doing simple things like weapon maintenance, or checking the quality of the wine on board, it really goes well with the quiet parts of the song, and it contrasts well with the scenes of all the high ranking people fighting in the whitebeard war for the faster paced moments of the opening. I think this is One Piece's opening at it's best, but there are a lot of good ones to choose from. Hope by Namie Amuro was probably the closest to overtaking this, but it wasn't close enough for me. --- Spare me your obsolete empathy The voice of sympathy means nothing to me ...
