Maybe he doesn't actually want to kill me but he wants something from me, information perhaps. Or maybe he wants to delay my death to torture me? Or maybe for some unknown reason he can't kill me right now. In order to reason with him I first have to know what he actually wants from me. So step 1 should be asking why he wants to kill me. But that might be too direct and might reaffirm his motive in the unlikely event he actually desires my death. So instead I'll open the conversation by appealing to his ego by telling him I'm his biggest fan in the galaxy. 2nd second: "Hey.... uh, you're that strong guy. (Crap!
