Due to an oversight Andrew Yang will not be on the Democratic Presidential Primary ballot in March in the State of Ohio. The Ohio Secretary of State, Frank LaRose, has explained that Ohio law requires the petition for being placed on the ballot to be submitted alongside a statement from the candidate that he is running for the office of President of the United States, which the Yang campaign apparently failed to do and does not dispute.

As the filing date has already passed the petition was denied and cannot be amended, however the campaign believes that an exception should be made in this case because the petition was submitted with three times the required number of signatures suggesting a large support for Yang in the State.

No other candidate had their petitions denied and Andrew Yang has now launched a write in campaign in the State.
