Like they imagine some drunk father just pummeling the kid and leaving him bloodied and bruised simply for talking back. That's not really the case, least with me. With me it was much more... discipline-related. Like, it only happened when I stepped out of line and blatantly disobeyed my parents and was honestly more about ensuring I learned the lesson than punishment. I'm not going to say that my parents were right or wrong for doing that. However I see a lot of kids today who so blatantly disobey or openly ignore their parents and their parents are either completely apathetic to it or outright afraid of their own kids. As a result the child has no respect not just for them but for anyone in general and I really wish their parents would put them over the knee just so they could learn discipline and respect. --- I am the gentle hand who heals, the happy smile who shields, and the foot that will kick your ***! - White Mage ...
