Intro2Logic 12/28/19 4:48:07 PM #1: | The 2.5D is more than just a graphical style, but a factor in level design. What I mean is that in most 2.5D games, the 3D is just a graphical style; everything you have to worry about is on a 2D plane. But in Tropical Freeze, obstacles come out of the background and into the "field of play," so to speak. And in a lot of cases, mostly cannon sections so far, the plane of movement itself gets shifted. It's really cool. The one thing I can think of that worked similarly is the Banzai Bills in Super Mario Maker 2's 3D World style, but that's just one enemy rather than a recurring design ethos. --- Have you tried thinking rationally? ...
