Maybe in the 2030s bring it back, set a couple hundred to a thousand years later, where names and feats are remembered as history but bloodlines and characters are all gone, and new ideas have emerged that challenge our understanding of the Force yet at least appear have validity to them.

For example, maybe in the interim, the Galaxy has reshaped its understanding of the Force not as light and dark but as various hues. It has red aspects, yellow aspects, green aspects, etc, and each of these have pieces of what we knew to be light and dark. So you have the red faction, the yellow faction, the green faction. Maybe this even proves to have been mumbo jumbo in the final installment and resolves in the final installment back into the light and dark thing, or maybe light turns out to be the combination of all where dark is the absence of all. I dunno, there are a hundred ways you could do it.

What I'm getting as is, it needs new ideas about the basis of the universe in order to still have interest.
