The 'that just means they're good friends' stance is not only the most tired and easily-debunked attitude towards Korrasami, but also one of the most tired attitudes towards homosexual relationships in general. The showrunners stated that Korra and Asami building towards a relationship was their intention starting in Book 3, and the foreshadowing is there. His willful ignorance / resistance towards it doesn't change this. There is no ambiguity because it was the showrunners' explicit intent to plant these seeds, and Korra and Asami did in fact end up in a romantic relationship; to continue to deny this is to quite simply deny the reality of the situation.Marcie and PB is buildup.
