I'm expected to work 8 hours a day M-F. As long as I'm close I don't think I'd have any issues. Sometimes (rarely) I'll work 7-7.5 hours and I don't tell my boss. Never hear anything about it. If I need to leave earlier it's no problem as long as I notify my boss. Got to choose my own start time, they'd let me adjust it depending on my needs at home.

I have to start every day on-time, and I have to take a lunch break (required by law) before the 6-hour mark.

Never have any problems getting time off.

My job is pretty flexible now that I think of it.

Is it salary or wage? I know for the Air Force (on my base), they sometimes dont care if we dont stay the whole 8 hours.

There is nothing official really. HR doesnt like to touch on this subject as it really depends on your role and I work for a fairly large institution, but I noticed the de facto core hours are between 10 and 4. You can expect everyone to be there between those hours.

However, when there is an external need like having an appointment it is very flexible. As long as you make up the hours (or rather, as long as you deliver on your tasks) no one really cares.

My job at the bus station is kind of like that. Our boss is ok with whatever if we get our work done...
