Yeah Nintendo, doesn't have issues with their naming conventions at all. /s.

The only truly awful system names they had were Wii U and New 3DS.

Wii U didn't sound interesting, or even that it was something new, and New 3DS had the opposite issue where it sounded like something totally new when it really wasn't.

DSi was also a pretty stupid name, but it came out in the final months of that system's life, so nobody really cared. Gamecube sounded juvenile but at least it got the point across and was memorable. Wii had the same issue, the original name of Revolution was way better, but given that they wanted a name that was easy for anyone in any language to say, they nailed it.
