| Topic | Badass action female, who comes to mind first? |

I find it odd that the movie most people credit Sigourney Weaver for being the badass action chick in, Aliens, is the one movie in the entire series where she was presented as softer and more motherly female character - she was explicitly juxtaposed against the *actual* action female of the movie, Jenette Goldsteins Private Vasquez. No, this is a positive of Ripleys character. She is an example of a female character who exhibits some traditional masculine traits, but she is never separated from the fact that she is a woman. I appreciate the fact that Aliens explored a bit of her pain at losing time with her biological daughter and that her motherly bond was extended to Newt.
