Topic	I forget why didn't Kevin's parents just call the cops/neighbors in Home Alone?

I mean the cop at the end is like "It made it easy to pin them on you!" but then they turn up in the sequel so obviously no jail time. I think "Well we know these men robbed those homes because the taps are on your honor" didn't play well in court. They establish in the sequel that they escaped from prison. --- "You need a hobby.
