The layers are the difference between miserably cold and fatally cold. Well that's not very common place. When most people talk hot vs cold they are talking 90+ vs in the teens because that are "normal" highs and lows when talking about northern vs southern climates But... If you are heading to Antarctica and are in -40 weather guess what you do?
