He's saying he doesnt want to do something that he knows isnt in many Americans best interest before he gets elected yet is something will obviously benefit both of them later after the fact. Obama was also putting himself before the American people. That's influencing the election correct? Since we want to use such a broad term like "influencing the election." I have no idea whether or not he's a racist, but apparently there are recordings of him using racial slurs so it's a distinct possibility.
