It might possibly have been law under the Articles of Confederation, but the passage of the current Constitution effectively overthrew the United States of the Articles in a bloodless revolution. I know its not legally binding. I just wonder how the CONCEPT was reconciled with the realities of running a nation, even putting aside slavery and patriarchy.
