The plot of the last season was an extremely elaborate plan involving a Supergirl clone, an anti-alien racism political movement, manipulating a hostile nation into attacking the US so he could "save" the US, giving himself cancer so he could get out of jail to help his sister perfect a superhero serum, blackmailing the president, imprisoning aliens to siphon their power, becoming the head of a US government department, and framing Supergirl for the murder of several high-ranking government officials.
