The AAF was very hit or miss in game quality, but it at least appeared to pay guys for playing, although that exploded and the douchebags in charge fucked over a lot of guys. The XFL isn't even pretending that, paying guys like grocery store shelf stockers. The best guys who would have been in the XFL either already were in the AAF and are on NFL rosters or practice squads, or told the XFL to fuck off for paying them like teenage fast food workers. This leaves the XFL as basically the 4th tier of pro football, after the NFL, the CFL, and the AAF, and that's not counting NCAA which is also better. It's barely even worth watching as a curiosity, especially now that Rugby is much easier to see in America, and actually features top tier athletes. --- All generalizations are false, including this one. ...
