I liked it but it kinda bothers me De Niro's character was in no way Irish except for name, he talked and acted like one of his standard Italian charcters, Obviously I wasn't expecting him to be some crazy irish guy with a thick accent and I know he's Irish-American but it kinda bugged me a bit. Nothing would have changed if you swapped his heritage.

De Niro was easily the weakest part of the film, sadly. Pacino, Pesci and Ray Romano stole the show, even with Pesci playing a quiet / reserved character. But De Niro was good as a narrator. I didnt know a whole lot about Frank Sheeran as a character so I didnt have a lot of expectations but he was clearly the weakest link
