Where in the united states can you afford rent, utilities, food, luxury goods, etc all on $1000 a month? Not everybody can live with their parents for various reasons. And even the ones who could can't always live a decent life with them. And in most places, you can't afford everything (rent, utilities, food, etc.) on $1000 a month. I live in a very cheap area, and it would be almost impossible on it's own. Maybe with another person... in certain homes...
