For the team leader battle, you must win to have a chance at anything besides dust, and Master League gives better odds for a stone (~10%) than the others (~6%). For pvp battles, league and result doesn't matter, odds are always the same - ~15% for a stone Like a 1/7 chance of getting a Sinnoh stone (and the same odds for a Unova stone) from your research breakthrough.
