Topic | Will GameFAQs boards survive the 2020s? |
TaiIs82 11/16/19 7:43:30 PM #21: | All you would need is a popular site with traditional forums and you could easily bleed off the remaining GFaqs population. Yeah. There was once that top 25 AMP user list, I think it's still going on but I haven't seen it in a while. A few years ago they had a contest where you guessed how many active posts the site had, I was curious so I compared the two and the top 25 users have a disturbingly high chunk of the active messages. I can't imagine it's improved since then, although it may have ever since Devin announced a change to the purge rate. Dead board topics stay up longer so on paper it looks marginally better. As for actual activity? Nope. I was once one of those 25 users, barely, but I did that without spam. After the way I've been treated here I don't see a reason to prop those activity numbers up, and the purge rate, sitemap changes have ended all my motivation to go board hunting. I had a top 10 community board, locked up without recourse so I don't have anything major invested in this site anymore. I'm on reddit now and I really did not want to be, I would prefer this layout, but I don't prefer anything else. I'm here for The Range and complaints at this point. --- Hero/Legend of 261.
