No. It's ironic that I work in Australia which is perceived as having that culture, but it's only when I was working overseas that I came across people who took full use of unsubstantiated medical absences (i.e. paid medical leave without a doctor's note) Don't Australians, like, not are Americans, though? Word on the street is, in not-US, you have Government-mandated minimum vacation policies, and the minimum is some astronomical amount like six weeks. At my last job, I got one week, and the company closed for two weeks every year for Christmas so I had to use it then and still have no paycheck one of thiae weeks. Second year, I got two weeks.
