You follow the general flow of people, to an open square that seems to be the center of things. There appears to be a strong police presence, and at the middle of the square, there's a platform erected. Two humans(!) are on the platform, with a tall object under a tarp. There's a tall man with a staff, and a short and fat one behind him. The tall man is stirring up the crowd, clearly riling them up against "the Black Queen," who appears to represent the local government. The Queen has done nothing to protect the people from this Grail War- these two may be outsiders, but they are uniquely qualified to protect this glorious city from the crossfire. They will win the Grail War, and then lead Derse to victory in the War of Skaia! But they cannot do it while the city is threatened by their fellow Grail War participants. Look at this CREATURE that was sent to kill them last night! The fat man pulls the tarp off....and it's the Coloratura you sent, strung up to a pole, inoperable, and damaged enough to look extra gross. Phantom seethes. The crowd is reaching a fever pitch, and the police are starting to look twitchy.
