They know that Boomers are technically people in their 60s and 70s. When "okay, boomer" is applied to people younger than that, they're saying that the 30, 40, 50 year olds or whatever they might be just have a boomer mindset, which is why it's still dismissed with "okay, boomer". Gen Z doesn't believe that the Boomer generation literally starts at age 30.
