i just finished the game last night. didn't do too much extra stuff, just stuck with the story, and i think you're right. i can't think of any jrpg in recent memory with a story this good. it was genuinely heartfelt and full of great characters, ok?

that being said, the game itself is definitely archaic by today's standards, and i think i would have enjoyed it more had it not killed my 360 about a decade ago. although i'm glad i got to play a version with patty, as she turned out to be one of my favorite characters, ok?

that being said, two immediate things came to me that didn't make sense in the context of the story that maybe you can clear up, ok?

*spoilers obvs, ok?*

first, let's talk about patty. she's revealed to be the "legendary pirate", aifread. but she's, like, 10 years old (i'm guessing)? did she run a pirate ship/fleet when she was 6? 4? this made absolutely no sense to me, ok?

secondly, raven. raven's heart is literally replaced by a blastia. at the end of the game, all blastia in the world ceases to do its function any more, and are converted into spirits. so... did they just forget that raven's blastia would stop working as well? the completely ignored this, ok?

anyways, i'll probably have more questions as i reflect more on the game, but those are my immediate thoughts. loved the game, and i'll be hard up to find another jrpg that has a story and characters that strong. really loved it, ok?
