Pretty funky, very electric death-by-big-robot-machines feeling which is very fitting. Then 0:26 happens and WHOOOA I am being ELECTROCUTEd by sound very digitized death cool sounds. I really like the effect the rapidly changing hard panning has on the song too. Only real problem I have with it is a kinda blunt loop that's odd but there isn't anything I really dislike about it.

I am in the past with the dinosaurs!! Of all the PCM tracks, this one is definitely the most "sound chip-y" out of all of them haha, the samples in this one specifically seem even more low quality than others, but that is not a bad thing AT ALL. In fact, I'd believe it was done on purpose for effect and it works. Very cool chill sound, I just think I could stand to care a bit more for the melodies in it. I don't particularly like how the Palmtree Panic motif is used in the later part of the song. However, it doesn't stop me from smiling when I do listen to the song.

In an extremely ironic case of perfect timing, a prototype of Sonic CD dated to December 1992 was just released to the public yesterday, which includes a version of this song with CD quality as opposed to the PCM quality of the final... and it's really cool! I can't really say for sure if I like it more or less than the final product, but given my holdups are pretty much all just composition stuff, I'd probably end up saying it's about on par. But still, a very cool listen.

105th: Sonic CD (USA) - Tidal Tempest

Wwssshoooooo... Finally a focus on the vocals!! The part where they suddenly come out of nowhere with a lick is actually incredibly hilarious to me. Cool backing sound, still somewhat generic but I like it. It would've been nice if it could catch my attention away from the wooosh and drip drip in the background and would probably make me like it more but yeah, I like it.
