GO Plus users in particular have to be wary of every update because there's a good chance it'll break connectivity. Like an hour ago when New Zealand suddenly got Trapinch Community Day happening again, because Japan's make-up day starts in a couple hours and apparently Niantic didn't think to limit it to the appropriate region. Like yesterday when they unintentionally released access to Wayfarer for a while before rolling it back. Like a couple days before that when they accidentally switched on next week's Colossal event for a while. Like shiny forms accidentally being removed temporarily (happened like 7 or 8 times now). Like all the times they've had to reschedule Community Days or Raid Days because they don't activate them properly or the servers take a dump. Like players using certain Redmi phone models being inexplicably banned through zero fault of their own. On and on... Niantic is notorious for mind-boggling programming errors and piss-poor communication.
