It provides private servers that don't support mods, a bunch of gameplay conveniences that the main game would greatly benefit from, $16.50 of premium currency every month, and the NCR Ranger outfit from New Vegas, which people have been wanting since Fallout 4 launched, especially since there's proper flowy longcoats now. It's not gone over well, unsurprisingly. I'm annoyed at the the ranger armor, personally. It's a reminder of a much better game by the people who actually made Fallout, and a hotly-demanded item that's being held hostage behind a paywall in a game nobody wanted anyway.
