five times as many people are stabbed to death as are shot to death with rifles.

This is blatantly incorrect, unless you're trying to weasel out of whatever point you were "trying" to make by saying you didn't mean all guns.

That's actually factually correct.

Ah, so you are weaseling out of it by only talking about rifles for some reason.

He stated rifles in his post, so I'm not really sure what you're trying to argue. What he said is literally true, regardless of whether you misread or misunderstood it.

I already acknowledged it when I originally quoted the post - him only citing rifles was some kind of weaseling, because

a) The user he quoted himself specifically said "guns". Not a specific type of gun, but just "guns".
b) He even said "guns" in the first part his own post, referencing ownership for all types of guns, and then decided to narrow it down, because...reasons?

Like, "There's 300 million guns, but 5 times as many people are killed with knives than with rifles" is a fucking stupid, useless point. More people were killed with knives than shotguns too, simply because when it comes down to it, if you have access to them, it's far easier to commit a crime with something that's easy to conceal, like a knife (shocker!) or a handgun.
