You're not. The majority of vegans are going to be more conscious of their dietary habits than the majority of highly defensive omnivores. You know damn well the majority of vegans will supplement their B12, you can get trace amounts from some produce and seaweeds, and the amount your body actually needs is very little since it can synthesize some of its own. As far as the other things go - there are plenty of ways to get complete proteins without animal products. Soy is a complete protein, and there are plenty of commonly used complementary proteins. As far as iron goes - yeah, heme iron is more bioavailable. But again - the majority of vegans are probably going to supplement. Or they'll pair their non-heme iron sources with vitamin C to increase its absorption. There's absolutely nothing wrong with veganism. Let them live their lives. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
