rwlh 10/20/19 6:38:02 PM #91: | 30. Arthur (The Journeyman Project series) Nominated by GameBopAdv AI is usually pretty interesting in fiction (and in real life!). Arthur is an AI who seems somewhat childlike, just going off the Wiki page, but also helpful. He bonds with a man named Gage, and together they have various adventures in time, even traveling to Atlantis! And he eventually gets to wear a human suit and become mobile. Arthur is also an accomplished painter, but his paintings were always attributed to his creator. That must suck. It strikes me as odd that in the twenty-third century humanity is still struggling with AI. Arthurs creator taught him pop culture from our era, and he also worried humanity wouldnt accept Arthur if he were fully known. There are a lot of issues at play with Arthur: his worries about abandonment, his desire to belong, his fear of lack of acceptance. AI in video games often falls into either category of helpful servant or evil destroyer, so its nice to see an AI with some complexity. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
