If we spent that money instead on Universal Healthcare wouldn't we be better off? The money is going to be spent anyways. Why do people get so upset when we spend the money on helping our people instead of invading other countries? They just refuse to let Americans keep the money in country in favor of more tanks and jets. Baffling to me. The thing is, the military is only 20% of the budget, whereas entitlements is just about 50. If we can't make it work with half of all of our money I don't see what throwing another 5 or 10% on top would do.
