Reddit just has too many progressive beliefs. Progress is related to math, science, and technology. When it comes to social issues progress is related to complaining about things. For example complaining about religious people or false rape accusations or cops being racist. Progress is good in many ways but many people like the old way of doing things since that is the environment humans spent the most time evolving in. Many people like progressive ideas but your entire belief system can't be made up of progressive ideas since some ideas just don't go well together
