That sounds awful for the kid who scored the touchdown.

Yeah, imagine being a little kid who's second string and seldom gets to play.
You're put in the game, and have a chance to score a touchdown! of course you're gonna fucking go for it! Then to have your own coach yelling and pleading w/ you to stop, and it's "your fault" he gets punished? Way to traumatize kids, league!
It's a stupid fucking rule. Period. End the game early if you don't want an excessive blowout, the kids are too young to understand why it is this way and telling the second stringers, "we're putting you in cause you suck, and coach REALLY can't afford our team to score any more" is demoralizing.

Stupid rule. But the guy should have definitely pulled his starters with more than 2 minutes left in the game. He would have been able to avoid breaking the rule and the younger kids would have gotten more playing time

Considering the reserve squad was scoring a touchdown so quickly, it may not have even made a difference if they came out earlier. Other team was just that bad.
