Sedley Alley was put to death by the state of Tennessee 15 years ago for the 1985 murder of 19 y/o Suzanne Marie Collins who left her barracks for a job and never returned Collins was found raped, beaten and stabbed by a sharpened TREE BRANCH and strangled near a trail Sedley was a 29 y/o repairman who was an alcoholic and drug addicted who 'confessed" to the murder after cops fed him breakfast and bought him a pack of cigs. The jury found him guilty in less than 3 hours and despite changing his story and possible DNA evidence that could have exonerated him, he was killed in 2006 by lethal injection Now comes the arrest of 54 y/o Thomas Bruce in Missouri, a PASTOR who posed as a customer at a Catholic Supply store, returned armed with a gun and forced 2 women into sex acts and killed a third He was arrested and faced 17 felony charges and is awaiting trial At the time of his arrest, police were shocked he has no criminal record and given the horrific murders, they took a closer look at him and suspected he may be linked to other crimes as a 77 y/o woman recognized his face in the media where he forced his way into her home and raped her. Now he may be a major break in the Collins case as he was enrolled in the same school as Collins Cops contacted Barry Scheck, a founder of the Innocence Project that helps to exonerate people who are wrongly convicted with the help of DNA evidence but were unsuccessful in helping Alley They said a pair of men's underwear discovered at the scene should have been submitted for testing to know for sure Alley did it but prosecutors said other factors proved he was the killer and DNA alone wouldn't be enough Experts say Alley was coerced into the confession by police even though there was no physical evidence linking him to the murder and his recollection didn't match up autopsy reports.
