If Texas was trying to secede from the US and helping England fight terrorists in Mexico, you'd better believe that the US would want to put down that rebellion even if it interferes with England's ambitions. The Turkish government and US government aren't moral equals. Making up false scenarios is a bad look to justifying horrible actions, akin to Trump's "The Kurds didn't help us at Normandy" comments. More importantly, the fact that the US has been fighting a proxy war in Syria has greatly exacerbated the conflict and has helped to fuel the refugee crisis. Instead of having a concrete resolution one way or the other, we have a perpetual civil war that's displacing countless Syrians.
