the conversation came up between me and a co-worker a few days ago because we were talking about how they made adaptations of Mean Girls, Groundhog Day, Back to the Future, etc.

and I threw it out as a joke but the more I think about it, the more I really want it to be a reality. I keep thinking about it days later

I think it would lend itself to a stage musical so well. A couple Wyld Stallyns songs, a song for each time period, a Wyld Stallyns reprise in the future, maybe a cover of Play With Me, an 11th-hour song on the way to the presentation followed by a massive climactic song for the presentation itself.

if I knew anything about writing music I'd be trying to make this
