Are "you people" that fucking dense that you can't tell the difference between companies that leverage a low-wage Chinese workforce to make products and companies that are actively silencing and punishing their American employees for speaking out against Chinese authoritarianism? If Tim Cook put a gag order on any Apple store employee who retweeted a pro-Hong Kong tweet then I would 100% boycott Apple as well.

Adam Silver and the NBA didnt put a gag order on anyone talking about this issue from a pro-HK/free speech perspective (see: Terry Stotts literally last night and like 10+ teeets by Enes Kanter). At literally no point in this whole affair has any player or NBA figure been forced into silence by any authority or punished for pro-HK views. Tilman Fertita is a huge asshole and absolutely sucks (in both this situation and matters unrelated) and attempted major damage control to the Chinese market for the Rockets and even he didnt give Morey so much as a slap on the wrist. Nothing will happen to Enes Kanter either.

I dont understand where anyone has gotten the idea that somehow the free speech of NBA players, coaches, executives has somehow been limited or secretly suppressed. Thats not that case here - people are just exhibiting caution in speaking candidly. Youre making some sort of official or secret gag order up that literally doesnt exist.
