Like misoshita, he's someone who had his name before becoming a virtual youtuber. He wasn't really anything special though, just someone who got popular through his song covers (not totally unlike this one) impersonating a notable unrelated singer Fukuyama Masaharu (hence the namesake). The idea of hearing someone like that covering weebsongs like this guy does naturally drew a lot of attention back then. Since he became a virtual youtuber though... The people that once subscribed to him started to distance themselves from him. He used to be in the top 50 biggest channels, but in the last like 6 months he's actually net lost around 5k subs and fallen to like... Top 150 if that. Why? Despite how good his voice is, it's still, you know, a joke. So... Turns out he's actually some crazy otaku comedian who acts like an idiot, all while still using this voice he has. Which I think is great, but it kind of clashes hard with the utaite/fujo audiences he managed to attract prior. Anyway that's not really important. What is is the fact that A. He's a good vtuber, B. actively associates with much smaller channels C. likes cool things and gets to collaborate with cool people in the doujin music scene thanks to his moderate e-celeb status (he's friends with yohgen, for instance) and D. He still does meme covers I actually never knew about his chika dance cover until i was checking his channel for things to nominate. It stood out to me because of how blatantly he was trying to take the piss out of it between the erratic avatar shaking in place of an actual mmd edit of the video on it like every other cover out there, as well has the flagrant disregard for the song's actual rhythm. If I were to pick again though, I'd probably select one of his 3D covers though. Since joining upd8, he got a 3D model like some often tend to, like Ichika did. Unlike Ichika, his one was....
