Smart phone apps have enabled the gig economy which has only served to undercut wages and make people poorer. Taxi drivers are committing suicide because they can't compete with the flood of desperate uber and lyft drivers who themselves are barely making money (if any) after maintenance costs and fuel. You drank the kool-aid too hard. In fact, you've dunked your entire fucking head in it. Stop lapping up the bullshit that the rich spew. They are actively making the world a worse place. Taxi companies are monopolies. Uber is not all good in itself but the reason they disrupted the taxis is because of how entrenched they were in the first place. You are really uncharitable and unpleasant to speak with so I'm just going to stop responding. Hard to take seriously the idea that NO people benefited from personal computers, smart phones, apps, the platforms that enabled new services and products, and the like.
