From a statistical standpoint, for the Yankees to win the World Series, it would require them to do so with arguably the worst starting rotation to ever win the World Series.

one of the stupidest things i've ever seen

Tanaka has a 1.54 playoff ERA (1.2 if you don't count that wild card game. i don't consider the wild card game a postseason game)
Paxton is good RIGHT NOW, his first half is irrelevant
Severino has a very small sample size but also an ERA barely over 1
even Happ has been great his last few outings

starting pitching and bullpen are both considerably better than when they won it all in 2009. and lineup is on par if not better.

seriously, how can you say this after the Yankees just dominated a vastly better offensive team than the Astros just struggled with?

This was before they lost German so it's a regular season stat.

I can't reasonably put stock in anything the Yankees do to the Twins in the playoffs though. I put it more on the Twins being the underperforming dogs they always are.

Or really put much stock into anything anyone does to the Twins in the playoffs considering 16 straight losses.
