I always laugh at the lapdogs of the rich rushing to defend them with cries of "you're just jealous!!"

The proper word is envious, by the way.

jealous
adjective
feeling or showing envy of someone or their achievements and advantages.

Looks like jealous is the exact right word.

The Oxford dictionary widget I have shows that too. But they do not have the same denotation. Jealousy refers to having negative feelings in addition to envy, as in "If I can't have it, you shouldn't have it either" while envy just wanting what others have. There's nothing wrong with envy, it's a natural feeling, but jealousy is something that should definitely be worked on. For this reason, I stopped using the word jealous a long time ago.

Nitpicking, but carry on.
