Topic	Blizzard disables the ability to delete Battle.net accounts.

That's the part I missed. Yeah they're a video game company, they shouldn't be expected to "defend the honor of China". I wont delete my accounts but I dont really expect to be playing any Blizzard games any time soon. I always get a good feeling when somebody on the internet gets new information and actually politely changes their perspective.
