This time, they suspended an esports player and the two people interviewing him because he spoke out in support of the Hong Kong protests. They also withheld the prize money he earned. It's massively blown up in Blizzard's face, being seen as wanting to appease their most profitable market; valuing money over people's freedom. The Blizzard subreddit had to be temporarily shut down from the avalanche of backlash, and both it and the Hearthstone subreddits are full of people making angry posts, memes, and talking about quitting/unsubbing from Hearthstone and WoW. Outside of Blizzard HQ, there's a statue with several small plaques surrounding it. People in Blizzard hated what happened to the player, so they went and covered up the plaques that say "Think globally" and "every voice matters". A competing card game also offered to pay the player the prize money he had taken from him, along with a ticket to their own tournament. With Blizzcon just a couple weeks away, this is likely going to produce more hilarity in the near future. Remember when they merely pissed people off by announcing a mobile Diablo game? Simpler times. In happier news, Doom 64 is being ported to modern systems.
