It's no different than if you are hosting a family dinner, and in the middle of it, when your brother is talking about what he's doing in college, someone says "I hate liberals/republicans", and you say "Hey, no political talk tonight". It doesn't mean that you are opposed to his viewpoints, nor does it mean you agree. It just means you don't want to derail what is taking place with needless drama. This situation isn't any different, and a company isn't obligated to have a stake in the events. They aren't doing any damage by doing nothing politically...they are just literally doing nothing politically.
